This is my most recent medical bill. A 5D4N stay in Gleneagles Hospital KL cost me RM42,885.80
It was not quite expected. I was informed ahead that the bill will cost approximately RM13k-RM34k and it came up almost RM10k extra. Wow terkejut siah! Nasib fully claimed insurance from HLA. Oh well, it’s a 5 Shark Hospital right, opps it’s 5 Star Hospital.
Reason I write is to create awareness about the importance of insurance and how it can ease one’s financial burden. Here’s to also remind everyone who is/are still reading my post, to review all your insurance policies especially your medical plan. It’s up to RM3.5mil annual limit now and will be refreshed every anniversary date. Dah upgrade ke belum? Malaysia healthcare inflation rate is soaring high, ranging 15.3% in 2018, 16.1% in 2019 and 14% in 2020. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow but if medical attention is needed, it can easily cost a bombshell. We prepare an umbrella before it rains, why not a medical policy? Luckily I have one and it helped me to clear my almost RM43,000 bill in time of need

Ya ya no need so high limit because if can claim RM500k, engine pun almost rosak. I agree, but what if the illness can be cured and prolonged one’s life, so why not? Those who knew, we spent huge amount of money on Kar Wai’s medical treatments. Insurance claims came in handy at that very crucial times, claimed almost RM1mil. Back then 17 years ago, coming out with that amount of money was not easy. But it gave us 3 years more time to spend with him, amazing quality time, experiences and memories before he left.
Long story short, do yourself an overall insurance review, on yearly basis, at least. It’s important to know what you pay for and what you get in total. A lot might say, ya I got a lot of insurance already. Let me ask; you paid a lot or you got a lot or do you know? I can assist you to do a summary. Just let me know, pm tepi, I’m on long MC, I have plenty of free time now. Haha

Lastly, I wish everyone good health.
Health is wealth. Never ever take it for granted.
Gracias Gratitude
